Facebook has announced about the launch of The Facebook Journalism Project – a new project to fight with fake news in social networks.
The project includes three main areas:
- Cooperation with mass media and joint development of new news products for the social network;
- Conducting trainings for journalists;
- Training users for media literacy.
Among other areas of the project are testing new business models for the media, promoting independent and local media, organization of hackathons. In addition, Facebook will help publishers attract new subscribers.
The company has already agreed to cooperate Vox and The Washington Post.
Recall that in December, the social network has launched a new mechanism for deal with phishing fake news.
