The head of the European office of Google Matt Silent apology to the advertisers that their ads were shown before extremist videos on YouTube. About it reports the Financial Times.
"I want to start with an apology. When something like this happens, we take responsibility for it" said Silent at the Advertising Week Europe conference in London.
The Manager promised that the company will simplify tools that allow users to control the placement of advertising. At the moment they are rarely used due to difficulties in adjustment.
"If those settings are there, but people don't use them, that's our problem" said Silent.
Some large companies and governmental organizations (UK government and such companies as L'oreal, BBC and other media organizations) suspended advertising on the Google Display Network and YouTube because they show ads before with inappropriate videos.
In response, Google promised to make changes in their advertising policy and provide advertisers greater control over where their ads are placed.
