Search engines such as Baidu, Sogou and Yahoo Japan are introducing Google AMP support. About it said the Vice-President of Google Search David Besbris at conference called AMP Conf, which was held in New York.
The addition of these search engines to the AMP project will allow to expand the scope of project to more than 1 billion people living in China and Japan.
Google launched a open source project Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) in October 2015. Support for accelerated mobile pages have already implemented Bing, eBay, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr, WordPress, Shopify, TripAdvisor, Disney and many other services and publishers.
According to Besbris, at the moment created more than 1.7 billion AMP. Weekly, the number increased to 35 million. The total number of domains that uses this technology, is 860 thousand.
A recent research by Google showed that 70% of mobile pages loaded from 7 to 10 seconds. For comparison, the AMP this process takes less than a second.
Besbris noted that AMP-page not get benefits in ranking. However, if you have two identical pages – accelerated and conventional mobile – Google will show in AMP search results.
Last month accelerated mobile pages appeared in the main results of Google Russia.
