Google, Apple and Netflix will pay the "Tax On Google" in Russia
Thirteen major foreign tech companies have registered in the Russian Federal tax service to pay a "Tax On Google". About this report Vedomosti with link to the statement of the representative of the FTS.
The tax authorities have registered:
- Apple;
- Google;
- Microsoft;
- Netflix;
- Wargaming Group;
- Other companies.
According to representative FNS, since April 25 they will pay VAT at the end of each quarter.
We will remind, the law on introduction of VAT on sales of digital services, so-called "Tax On Google" was signed by the Russian President on 4 July 2016. From 1 January 2017 the law entered into force and now foreign IT-companies have to pay the Russian VAT of 18%.
At the end of December 2016 foreign companies selling software and services via the Internet began to warn their Russian users on the price increases that caused by the entry of the "tax on Google". To raise prices for digital content on 18-20% already announced by Google, Nintendo, Amazon and others.
The Federal tax service in July last year has developed a portal VAT office of Internet companies, which use foreign IT-companies can pay a "Tax On Google" remotely. The service began operating on 1 January 2017.
