Pinterest hired a search specialist from Google
Senior engineer Google Image Search Randy Keller went to work at Pinterest. He took the newly created post of head of team search.
Keller has worked at Google for over 10 years. In his profile on LinkedIn says he worked in the division of the Image Search Quality and managed a team of 40 engineers. His duties included ensuring quality of search and implementing machine learning algorithms.
His decision to join the Pinterest team Keller commented:

Previously in September 2016, Pinterest hired a former head of search for Google image. She has served as Director Of Development.
Last week, the company introduced three innovations in the field of visual search technology:
- Lens, which is able to recognize the objects of the external world and look for them in the service;
- The function Shop The Look;
- Instant Ideas.
