Team social network OKru announced that will not impose a fee for sending the GIF images. Users will be able to send them messages for free and those who bought access to sending GIF in the test period spent in local currency will be returned.

Anton Fedchin, project Manager Classmates:

GIF images are very popular in the feed, so we conducted an experiment to determine how important they are for users in messages. Based on these figures, we took the decision to develop unique paid and free entertainment services inside OKru. So, the main application service for the exchange of messages OK Messages — "real stickers", UGC content, built by analogy with GIF-images. This is a promising direction, and we intend to develop it.

Recall of a GIF-images appeared in the OKru in may 2015. Today, users send about 1 billion gifs a day. This figure increased to 133% from last year. Users OKru can not only attach GIF images to records, but also send them personal messages and set on the avatar.

In December 2016, the social network began testing a paid subscription to use the service for the price of 30 units of domestic currency for one day use. The service can be purchased for one day or try it for seven days with automatic renewal. Monthly subscription cost the user 99 OK.
