Google saved $3.6 billion in tax payments in 2015
In 2015, Google has saved $3.6 billion in tax payments with the financial scheme known as "double Irish with a Dutch sandwich". About it reports Bloomberg referring to the report of the Dutch regulator.
The revenue of the Corporation from operations outside the United States was going on the accounts for Google Ireland Limited, and then transferred through the Netherlands Google Netherlands Holdings BV Google Ireland Unlimited, which is registered in Ireland, but is actually in Bermuda, which frees it from paying income tax. In this way the Corporation managed to reduce the tax rate outside the U.S. to 6.4% in 2015. This scheme is used by Google since 2004.
In 2015, the Irish government closed the possibility of using the scheme "double Irish with a Dutch sandwich". However, companies that already applied will be able to enjoy these privileges until 2020.
The press service of Google said that the company complies with the laws of the countries in which it operates.
