Google is working to increase the retention period in the Search Console
Currently, Google is actively working to increase the data retention period in the Search Console for up to one year. About it told the representative of the search John Mueller in response to a question from webmasters.
At the moment the service data is available for search queries for the last 90 days.
Question Mueller was asked during a regular hangout for webmasters. It was:
"Can we wait for more data on search queries in the Search Console? For example, in a year?".Mueller replied:
"You're not the first who asks about it. As far as I know, currently our team is working on this task. However, it requires time to avoid providing incorrect data. We also need to make sure UI is easy to use, provided that you will receive the access data for the whole year. In addition, the UI should be slightly different from the one that is there now."Listen to his response, starting with a mark of 28:28 min video below:
First Google announced that is working on the extension of the retention period data in the Search Console in 2013. Two years later, the company stated that their plans had not changed. However, until now, nothing has changed. Maybe in 2017, Google will finally appreciate webmasters this long-awaited update.
