In November 2016, the share of mobile traffic in the Runet has reached 62%. This was reported by the lead engineer of the team ranking of Google Sergey Arkhangelski at the conference Optimization in 2016. The report of the specialist was devoted to the changes in mobile Google search.
According to the company, 65% of users use smartphone for shopping, and 44% search for products, and 7% are looking for just mobile. It is expected that every year this figure will grow.
During his presentation, he reviewed several case studies on the implementation of the AMP. In one of them, the process took only 12 days, and the use of technology gave an 18-fold increase audience, increase average session duration, and twice as fast loading pages.
In addition, the expert reminded about several recent announcements of the company directly related to mobile search.
The first concerns full-screen ad units. According to Google, over 93% of users react negatively to advertising that completely covers the content. Since January 10, 2017, Google will demote mobile results websites that host such ads.
In the near future will be launched mobile-first index. The factor of a mobile-friendly will remain in force.
