Google has started to use HTML5 instead of Flash in Chrome
Google announced that it started to use HTML5 by default instead of Flash in Chrome.
At the moment the change started for 50% of users of the beta version of Chrome 56, released at the end of last week.
In the coming days, the feature will be active for 1% of Chrome users 55. In February 2017 it will be launched for all users of the stable version of Chrome 56.
Earlier it was reported that full transition to HTML5 by default will take place before the end of this year.
Recall that the first steps in this direction were initiated in September 2015, Chrome 45. In this version of the browser part Flash content playable only on tap, not automatically.
In September 2016, the browser has started to block Flash content, which is downloaded transparently to the user in support of various processes.
