Gmail will support add-ons
Later this year, the mail service Gmail will be able to install add-ons. The representatives of Google said about it at the Cloud Next conference.
Additions will be posted in the store G Suite Marketplace. At the moment it is available extensions for Google Docs and Sheets.
The new service is targeted primarily for business. However, normal users can also install add-ons as in the web version of Gmail and in application for iOS and Android.
Currently, the new functionality is tested together with Salesforce, ProsperWorks and other companies. To get access to the Developer Preview, you can apply here.
The developers who create add-ons for Gmail, will be able to make them pay or vice versa at its discretion.
The exact launch date of the new service were not disclosed.
